A new “Super” Militarized High School, the consolidation of the Leon MX District, an elevated bridge at the intersection of the Metropolitan Axis with La Luz Boulevard and the donation of the land that would be for the new Leon stadium were announced by the Governor during the Report of Government of Ale Gutierrez

“It is time to close ranks, for unity and work for the people. To redouble our efforts, to put our hearts first to deliver for the citizens. And in this task you have the support of the Governor”, said Diego Sinhue Rodriguez Vallejo during the Second Government Report of Alejandra Gutierrez Campos, Mayor of Leon.
The Governor reaffirmed his support for the Leones families with four very important announcements:
- The consolidation of the Leon MX District
- An elevated bridge as a solution to traffic in the intersection of the Metropolitan Axis with La Luz Boulevard
- The new “Super” Militarized High School
- Donation to the City of the remaining land of the lot purchased for the new Leon stadium project
Actions in the Leon MX District will strengthen its public space and integrate it into an urban complex incorporated into the city.
Public spaces such as squares and pedestrian and cycling infrastructure will be enabled that invite citizens and visitors to enter, emphasizing significant places in the District, thus creating tree-lined pedestrian circulations.
In the first stage, 3 Plazas and one Control Center will be built.
The Plaza Oriente located on Francisco Villa Boulevard and Paseo de los Ninos Boulevard corner, as well as pedestrian access from the avenue to Parque Explora and the South Parking Lot.
The South Plaza, reconfiguring the parking lot between the Fair and the Explora Science Center, transforming it into a plaza shared by both institutions as a space of transition and connectivity.
And the Plaza Poniente, which will be a transition between the street and the Explanada de la Feria and will reinforce its spatial relationship with the Guanajuato Cultural Forum.
The “Command and Control Center” -C2- will be built that will reinforce the surveillance of the District. 100 million pesos will be invested initially in these works.
The second announcement was an elevated bridge as a solution to traffic at the intersection of the Metropolitan Axis with La Luz Boulevard.
The corresponding study has already been carried out and the investment could be of up to 800 million pesos. “Leon deserves it! to continue its great development and progress,” said the Governor.
As a third announcement, the Governor mentioned that a new Militarized High School will be built in Leon; it will be the third in this municipality.
The Militarized High School will be built on part of the land where the Leon new soccer stadium was going to be built. “Of the 12.4 hectares, we would be using 5.5, with an estimated investment of 176 million pesos”, said Rodriguez Vallejo.
“Although we already have 2 militarized high schools in Leon, many kids and parents have approached me and asked me to expand coverage”, said the Governor.
“I am very proud of these schools. Belonging to a Militarized High School is pride, it is identity, it is passion, it is discipline, it is the desire to move ahead! That is why today we are saying Yes to another Militarized High School!”, said Diego Sinhue.
The fourth announcement was that the State Government will donate the remaining land of the lot purchased for the new Leon stadium to the city so that a large park can be created there for all Leones.
“With this we want to tell you that you are not alone, you have the full support of the State Government! This is the level of commitment we have with the people of Leon!” said the Governor.
So far in the State Administration, from 2019 to 2023, more than 6,438.5 million pesos have been invested in the execution of works and actions; of which, in the period 2022-2023 ending July 31, more than 1,068 million pesos have been invested, a figure that will continue to increase.
In Leon works of all kinds have been done and more will be done and there have been investments in social benefit programs.
The State Government and the Municipality of Leon will do more works, with a joint investment of 75.6 million pesos, of which 36.2 million are State resources and 39.4 million are Municipal resources.
“We are going to make Leon bigger than ever; and united we will continue to make of Guanajuato, The Greatness of Mexico”, said the Governor.
In the Second Government Report of Mayor Alejandra Gutierrez Campos, members of the Honorable City Council of Leon were present; Eduardo Ramirez, President of the Municipal DIF System; Marko Cortes Mendoza, President of the National Executive Committee of the National Action Party; and Jorge Romero Herrera, Coordinator of Federal Deputies of the National Action Parliamentary Group, among other.
