Governor announces more infrastructure for Penjamo

The Governor starts and supervises works in the Municipality

The Governor of Guanajuato, Diego Sinhue Rodriguez Vallejo, began this 2024 with works and actions for the benefit of the population; in Penjamo, sports and road infrastructure works began.

“It is a pleasure to start and supervise works in the neighborhoods and communities of Penjamo,” said the Governor with Mayor of Penjamo, Omar Gregorio Mendoza Flores.

The work tour of this municipality began in Aratzipu, where the Governor started the construction of the multipurpose field and complementary works in the future main square of the Community.

The work will consist in the construction of a multipurpose court, a jogging track, an outdoor gym, a children’s play area and a rest area.

More than 4.7 million pesos will be invested in this work, of which 4.09 million are a state contribution, while 700 thousand pesos will be contributed by the Municipality.

The Governor noted that with the Municipality, important actions are being promoted, such as the work on the first stage of the rehabilitation of the road to the community Tierras Negras.

It is a work that will solve the traffic jams between the City of Penjamo and the communities of Sierra de Penjamo, and the town of Tierras Negras; 17.8 million pesos are being invested in paving the first 2.32 kilometers.

The State contributes 8.9 million pesos, while the Municipality invests a similar amount, to directly benefit 612 people and many communities in the mountains, the Governor noted.

For the Government of Guanajuato, it is a priority to have roads and paths in good condition. First of all, for the security they provide. By improving the conditions of a road, the risk of accidents decreases.

During the work tour, the State Governor and the Mayor also started the construction of the roof-metal structure of the multi-purpose field of the South Sports Unit of Penjamo.

2 million 400 thousand pesos will be invested in this work, of which 50 percent are State resources and the rest municipal resources.

They also started the paving of the Penjamo Street in the San Miguel II neighborhood. The resource for this work is Municipal, in which they invest more than 2 million pesos.

Electrification works will also be carried out on this street through the Secretary of Social and Human Development and the Municipality. 

The Governor began the paving work on Santos Degollado Street; this work will directly benefit 75 families that live in the area, and in general, the entire population.
