Through the agreement that the People’s Government has with the Mexican Institute of Industrial Property (IMPI), more than 656 Guanajuatense companies have benefited of a 90% discount on trademark registration in 2025.
Until 2025, Guanajuato ranks 3rd nationally in patent generation according to the Mexican Institute for Competitiveness AC (IMCO).
Under the leadership of Governor Libia Dennise Garcia Munoz Ledo and as part of her commitment to the economic development of Guanajuato, this comprehensive strategy is being promoted to strengthen the local economy and the competitive visibility of Guanajuatense companies.
According to the Secretary of Economy, Claudia Cristina Villasenor Aguilar, protecting innovation and commercial identity means protecting the assets and future of entrepreneurs and increasing their competitiveness.
Villasenor said that this strategy is fundamental for formalization, legal protection against imitations and access to formal markets, strengthening brands, adding value and improving sales.
As part of this strategy, the People’s Government invites all companies to visit the IMPI Module at the Leon Fair, located in Hall B300, next to the stands of the State agencies, where they will receive specialized guidance for the registration of trademarks, patents and commercial notices.
Registering your trademark with the Mexican Institute of Industrial Property (IMPI) grants exclusive rights, serves as a legal shield, and increases customer loyalty. It is a crucial step in aligning products with valuable branding elements like the Marca Guanajuato and accessing new business models and marketing channels.
The People’s Government, through the Secretary of Economy, reaffirms its commitment to promote talent, innovation, and economic leadership in Guanajuato, providing tools that generate employment and prosperity.
