Guanajuato/Gto News
The Secretary of Security and Peace, through the State Public Security Forces (FSPE) and the State Civil Protection Coordination, deployed a brigade made up of personnel from the three levels of government to assist the population affected by the flooding registered in the community of San Pedro de Ibarra, in the municipality of Ocampo, Guanajuato.

The brigade was made up of 211 personnel and 31 units from the Ministry of National Defense (SEDENA), the State Coordination of Civil Protection (FSPE), the State Highway Police, as well as emergency services from Ocampo and San Felipe, including firefighters and Red Cross personnel.

The rapid response and inter-institutional coordination safeguarded the lives and safety of the residents of Ocampo, where the overflowing of a reservoir of water and runoff damaged 244 homes, of which 151 have been surveyed; one church, two schools, 14 streets, and 15 vehicles.
A total of 467 people were also reported to have been affected. The number could increase as the census of homes reported with damage continues.

The affected streets include:
- Rio Cocinero, 5 de Mayo, Iturbide, Morelos, Hidalgo, Benito Juarez, Zaragoza, San Pedro Ibarra, Pino Suarez, Madero, Callejon del Bosque, Centenario, and El Codo Street
The water level reached between 1.30 and 2.10 meters in the streets and between 0.80 and 2.10 meters inside homes. The damage was caused by a fracture of approximately 100 meters in the Las Golondrinas ditch, located on the privately owned El Tecolote lot in the Sierra de Lobos.

So far, two people have been reported injured. Authorities continue their damage assessments and are providing support to affected families. Two temporary shelters have been set up: one in the Nabor Quiroz Municipal Auditorium with a capacity for 50 people, and another in an events ballroom with a capacity of up to 300.

Given the possibility of further rain, vigilance remains active in the region to prevent further emergencies.
The State Civil Protection Coordination urges the public to follow safety instructions and remain attentive to official announcements.
