The rating agency Fitch Ratings ratified Guanajuato’s international and national scale ratings at ‘BBB-‘ and ‘ AAA(mex) ‘, respectively; both with a Stable Perspective. The individual credit profile remains at ‘a’ .
Among the key factors highlighted by the finance agency about Guanajuato, the following stand out:
- The nominal growth of the State’s total income improved due to its efforts to increase local income, and its control and coordination policies .
- A result of the implementation of several fiscal reforms and the improvement in collection efficiency , the State’s fiscal autonomy was strengthened and state revenues were boosted .
- It has a favorable history of budge and spending, which is reflected in its balanced operating structure. The sectors of education, health and safety continue to be prioritized .
- The State’s level of debt is considered moderate.
- Pension liabilities do not represent a financial contingency since the ISSEG has long-term financial viability.
