The fire that affected for days thousands of acres in the Sierra de Santa Rosa was completely extinguished

The State Public Security Secretary, through the State Civil Protection Coordination, reports this afternoon that the fire in the Sierra de Santa Rosa was declared extinguished, the fire started last March 24.
Once the liquidation and prevention monitoring for possible reactivation of heat points has been carried out and according to the evaluation of the National Forestry Commission, the phased demobilization of personnel from the fire area to the Operations Center begins.
For this reason, around 6 pm this Saturday, the entire operational forces of combatants were concentrated for the final evaluation and closure of activities in the Operations Center.

Likewise, there are estimates that the affected area is 2,008 hectares, the majority being leaf litter, herbaceous plants, shrubs and adult trees, the latter consisting of oak.
During the combat, control and extinction tasks different brigades participated in the efforts some are:
- National Forestry Commission, the Secretary of National Defense, the National Guard, the State Coordination of Civil Protection, the Secretary of the Environment and Territorial Planning and the Municipal Coordination of Civil Protection, as well as Volunteer Groups
With the effort, collaboration and coordination of all the institutions that were part of the brigades, as well as the support of citizens through the donation of water and food, the State Public Security Secretary through the State Civil Protection Coordination, it is confirmed that the control and extinction of the fire is complete.
