Ferrero and Guanajuato extend collaboration agreement to benefit more than 100 thousand children

Ferrero de Mexico and the Government of Guanajuato, headed by Diego Sinhue Rodriguez, extended the Joy of Moving program agreement to train 400 new basic education teachers in this methodology to reach a total figure of 800 teachers, doubling the initial objectives.
With this extension, the program reaches an investment of more than 12 million pesos to be optimized in four years (until 2025), a time that Ferrero together and the Secretary of Education of Guanajuato will use to train basic education teachers through access to the digital platform of “Joy of Moving” that is used throughout the world, as well as more than 80 demonstration videos that will help children and educators in their learning process.
Since the beginning of the 2021-2022 school year, the Government of Guanajuato adopts, as a public policy, the Joy of Moving methodology. To date, it already has more than 270 trained teachers and has positively impacted more than 25,000 children.
For this new school year, more than 34,000 additional children will be activated in 96 State schools.
“Joy of Moving is a reality in Guanajuato, with this program we are promoting the comprehensive development of our children through play. In addition, it also helps them develop essential skills, to better face daily situations, especially now that we are experiencing a pandemic, it reinforces their autonomy and self-confidence. We have a first class program that is proven in many other countries”, said Diego Sinhue Rodriguez, Governor of Guanajuato.
The evaluation of the first year of implementation of Joy of Moving in Guanajuato showed that:
- 89.9% of students from third to sixth grade evaluated had fun during the games
- 89.7% of the parents surveyed mentioned that they have noticed a change in the levels of physical activation in their children
- 80.7% of the teachers surveyed said that the adoption of the program improved their abilities and motivation towards teaching physical activity at school
- 13.7% of the evaluated students improved the degree of attention during their daily classes
- 14.5% improved their behavior in the general task during the learning in the classroom
“Joy of Moving is present in more than 30 countries. In Italy it is part of the public policy of the basic education system and now it also is in Guanajuato. With the extension of this agreement we continue to contribute to the development of children.
