“In Guanajuato, people are very supportive. The families of San Pedro de Ibarra are not alone. We are here with you and we will help you. Today, this entire team here is a team working for you,” said Governor Libia Dennise Garcia Munoz Ledo.

Libia delivered aid to families affected by the flooding caused by the rupture of the El Tecolote dam in San Pedro de Ibarra, Ocampo.

The Governor and her team delivered 6.2 million pesos in aid door-to-door, following the severe flooding that affected homes, businesses, the town’s church, and family property.

The water, which rose more than a meter inside homes, damaged vehicles, furniture, clothing, kitchen ware, and even pets.
In an immediate response, the Governor instructed the People’s Government Brigades to conduct house-to-house surveys, in coordination with the municipality of Ocampo, to determine the extent of the damage and respond promptly and closely.

As a result of these efforts, 1,534 in-kind donations were delivered today, including:
- 263 double mattresses, 253 double bed bases, 108 single mattresses, 91 single bed bases, 148 refrigerators, 108 stoves, 55 gas tanks, 266 wardrobes, 114 washing machines, 101 sofas, and 27 dining tables

Aid is being delivered by the People’s Government through the Secretary of the New Beginning, which has been making aid deliveries since the day after the flood.

Other State agencies have provided comprehensive support:
- The Secretary of Security and Peace coordinated Civil Protection efforts and assistance during the contingency
- The State DIF delivered food supplies, cleaning kits, and basic items
- The Secretary of Public Works assessed damage to roads and streets
- The Secretary of Health deployed medical teams
- The Secretary of Rural Affairs is working on assessing the damage

The Secretary of Government supported the issuance of:
- 375 birth certificates, 269 CURPs (National Registry of Individuals), 30 counseling services, and two birth certificates, as many people lost personal documents
This supportive accompaniment reflects the values of the Decalogue of People, putting people at the center, acting with a human spirit, leaving no one behind, and responding with actions, not just words.

Present on this aid delivery tour were Juan Carlos Montesinos Carranza, President of the Advisory Council of the State DIF System; as well as other civil and military Officials and Authorities.
