The sky of Guanajuato will once again be filled with color, music and excitement with the inauguration of the International Balloon Festival (FIG) 2025, which will take place from November 14 to 17 in the Metropolitan Park of Leon.
This year, the festival will begin with a major new feature: “People’s Friday,” a day of free access for all families, announced by Governor Libia Dennise Garcia Munoz Ledo. The Festival opens its doors to thousands of visitors from the early hours of Friday the 14th.
The initiative aims to ensure that no one misses out on one of the country’s most anticipated festivals. “People’s Friday” invites the residents of Leon to experience the full FIG Festival in the morning for free of charge, enjoying the first hot air balloon launches. In the evening, paid admission will be available for Gloria Trevi’s opening show.
The International Balloon Festival is one of Mexico’s most iconic tourist events and one of the world’s largest celebrations of its kind. With the support of the State Tourism and Identity Secretary (SECTURI), the festival is gaining strength and international recognition, consolidating its leadership as a cultural and economic engine of the Bajio region.
