Elizabeth Díaz Bartolo earned her elementary school certificate by using the educational services offered by INAEBA and this allowed her to also develop other skills and now she is about to travel to Uruguay and represent Guanajuato in the XXXVII PanAmerican Chess Festival of the Young 2022 in Montevideo, Uruguay.
A good comeback
Elizabeth’s passion for chess and the wins she has achieved are the reasons that helped her finish elementary school, helped by her mother Magdalena Bartolo, who was worried because her daughter had dropped out of school.
A great work
She looked for education possibilities and discovered the 10-14 education model of the Institute of Literacy and Basic Education for Adults –INAEBA-, which provides care to children of this age group so that they certify their primary school, with the aim of rejoining to the school system.
“They treated me very well, I am very grateful to the institute, when I had doubts they explained things to me well and if I did not understand they repeated it to me several times until I was clear”, said Elizabeth.
A real challenge
It was a real challenge, because she had to organize her time to take violin classes and practice chess, and that is what makes her merit greater, now she feels extremely grateful to the INAEBA educational advisors.
She said she remembers how inspiring her classes and teachers were, which is why she wants to continue in the secondary school system because her dream is to become a lawyer or a doctor.
“It is important to finish school, it is better to finish it late, than never. I feel free from a burden I had, I feel good because I’m moving forward”
