The State Government and CANACO Leon strengthen their efforts to promote commerce, services and tourism, increase competitiveness, generate employment and consolidate economic growth for Guanajuato

Representing the Governor of the People, Libia Dennise Garcia Munoz Ledo, the Secretary of Economy, Claudia Cristina Villasenor Aguilar, participated in the Session of the Board of Directors and Executive Committee of the National Chamber of Commerce, Services and Tourism (CANACO) of Leon, where she presented to the members the economic direction of the State for 2026.
The Secretary noted that, under the Governor’s leadership, Guanajuato has a clear vision for economic development, based on institutional certainty, coordination, and ongoing work with the productive sector, to consolidate a balanced economic system that contributes to improve the quality of life of Guanajuatenses.
Villasenor said that commerce and services are fundamental pillars of the State’s economy and key players in social stability and economic growth. The Official reiterated that the State Government is promoting a long-term strategy aimed at strengthening commerce, increasing competitiveness, and creating conditions of trust for those who invest, start businesses, and generate employment.
The National Chamber of Commerce, Services and Tourism of Leon brings together about 900 companies, which generate approximately 27,875 direct jobs and around 13,000 indirect jobs, with a presence in strategic sectors such as automotive, food, housing and information technologies.
The Secretary of Economy recognized CANACO SERVYTUR Leon as a strategic ally for the design of public policies, as it is a space for dialogue that allows firsthand knowledge of the needs of the business sector and the development of joint solutions that directly impact thousands of Guanajuatense families.
Villasenor also highlighted the fundamental role of women in commerce and services, recognizing their leadership, management skills and their contribution to the balanced development of the State.
The People’s Government reiterates its commitment to continue strengthening collaboration with business chambers, promoting local consumption, consolidating supply networks, and generating more opportunities for businesses in Leon and throughout Guanajuato.
