DIF and Volunteers achieve progress in social assistance

State DIF executives present actions and public policies that transcend to benefit Guanajuatenses

The State DIF System supports more than 179 thousand people from Guanajuato with some benefit from the Food Program, in the 46 municipalities of Guanajuato.

This service is offered in community kitchens, with the support of municipalities and volunteers, where 17 million food rations are prepared each year.

This was stated in the broadcast of the weekly program ‘Connecting with the People’, where the Governor of Guanajuato, Libia Dennise Garcia Munoz Ledo, had as guests the President of the Advisory Council of the State DIF, Juan Carlos Montesinos Carranza and the General Director of the State DIF, Alfonso Borja Pimentel.

“For me, the DIF represents the heart of this government, because it is the noble and sensitive part. I am very happy with the linking work that you are doing,” said the Governor.

The President of the Advisory Council of the State DIF, Juan Carlos Montesinos Carranza, said that the work of this State institution highlights solidarity and social assistance for those who need it most, but, above all, it offers protection and a better quality of life to Guanajuatense families.

Various actions are provided, such as the 2024-2025 Winter Campaign, which started on December 17 in the Mezquite Gordo community, in Romita, and offered 23 thousand supports by delivering 500 blankets to each of the 46 Municipal DIFs of Guanajuato.

Montesinos noted that teamwork makes actions more efficient and reaches those who really need support, as is the case with People’s Volunteering, where each member contributes their free work to achieve better results for those who need it.

He said that the approach with each municipal DIF has provided an opportunity to learn about local needs, and work is being done to create and fine-tune strategies that provide solvency of support, from the State DIF to each municipality.

“For us, it is the possibility of being able to help more people, so what we want to give as a signal is that the State DIF and the Municipal DIF can work as a team as they have always done, but now we want to strengthen it further”, said Montesinos.

“We are trying to form the right team, the goal is to have everyone share the most important actions that exist, and how to support people, one by one in particular,” said the President of the Advisory Council.

The Governor said that in Guanajuato there are already spaces, programs and public policies to contribute to these issues.

“We will be joining this national care system based on what we already have here and can enhance; it is even something we believe in and we are going to launch it next year,” said the Governor.

Libia said that the work is ongoing and requires the participation of society in general to achieve social benefits for more people, which is why he urged Guanajuato to work as a team towards the well-being of citizens.

“A hug with all our love at the end of this year and we wish you a great 2025, for all the Guanajuatenses,” said the Governor of the People.
