Guanajuato/Gto News
At a key moment for the development of Mexico, Guanajuato consolidates itself as a benchmark for economic growth, productive inclusion and social development under the Government of the People.

Under the leadership of Governor Libia Dennise Garcia Munoz, the State has charted a clear path toward regional prosperity, focused on strengthening local talent, equitable access to financing, attracting investment, and supporting strategic sectors.
The Governor’s vision is based on a firm principle: Prosperity must reach every corner and translate into tangible benefits. The 2024 results reflect this commitment to inclusive, dynamic, and sustainable development.

The Secretary of Economy reports that:
- More than 9,600 economic units were strengthened with comprehensive support
- 46,500 people found formal employment
- More than 2,000 productive projects boosted Guanajuato
- These achievements are complemented by the integration of 5,000 companies into the State’s 12 strategic industrial clusters
Job training has been a fundamental pillar:
- Through the State Training Institute (IECA), more than 77,000 people received training
- Priority areas such as metalworking, logistics, automotive parts, and agrobusiness were served
- 34,224 women were trained
- 27,000 young people between the ages of 18 and 29 were also trained strengthening their skills
- More than 5,000 people accessed virtual training, eliminating geographical barriers
Tourism reached historic figures, in 2024:
- Guanajuato welcomed more than 21.9 million visitors
- Generating an economic impact exceeding 51.786 billion pesos
- A hotel occupancy of more than 3.4 million rooms

The promotion of new routes, such as wine tourism, driven by the Law for the Promotion of Winemaking Activities, consolidates the State as a destination for unique experiences.
The goal is to position our tourist destinations and support projects in each of Guanajuato’s regions, all with the aim of benefiting families who make a living in the area.
The Secretary of Rural Development (SECAM) promoted 25,490 productive projects to increase food availability and access in rural areas:
- Investment of 37.2 million pesos
- 553 production units were capitalized
- 35 municipalities
- They were provided agricultural machinery, equipment, and other gear, including 57 drones and 47 tractors
With the creation of the “Tu Puedes Guanajuato” Financial and Support Fund, the first of its kind, financial exclusion gaps are being reduced. This makes it easier for all sectors of production, women, and young entrepreneurs to access resources and promote their projects, thus generating equitable regional development throughout the State.

International positioning is advancing. Through the Coordinator for the Promotion of Foreign Trade (COFOCE), Guanajuato now ranks first as a non-border exporting State, where 82% of micro, small, and medium-sized enterprises (MSMEs) connect with global markets. In this process of the State’s internationalization, exporting companies not only position themselves internationally, but also increase their competitiveness and value in the local market, where they contribute to the well-being of Guanajuatense families.

The Guanajuato Inland Port (GPI) is building the Bajio Logistics Gateway, a public-private investment of 2.5 billion pesos that will boost international connectivity, strengthening the use of railroads and positioning Celaya and the Laja-Bajio region as a key logistics hub for North America.
These results reflect the People’s Government’s commitment to a prosperous, competitive, and supportive Guanajuato. The strategy is clear: create conditions for people to live better lives, with access to real opportunities for work, education, and economic growth.
