In order to guarantee a more efficient, transparent and citizen-friendly justice system, the State Commission for the Evaluation and Consolidation of the Criminal Justice System in Guanajuato was reinstated.

The Secretary of Government, Jorge Daniel Jimenez Lona, noted the importance of this Commission as a space for inter-institutional work and coordination to strengthen the application of justice, protecting the innocent, avoiding impunity for the guilty and guaranteeing reparation for damages to victims.

During the session, the creation of the Subcommittee on Justice for Adolescents was approved, the purpose is to harmonize State work with Federal guidelines, strengthening specialized attention in this area.
Also the Secretary of Government was sworn in as president of the Commission, and in turn swore in its new members, who will be key in the consolidation of the Criminal Justice System in Guanajuato.

The Commission was made up of Representative Maria Eugenia Martinez Oliveros, representative of the State Congress; Hector Tinajero Munoz, President of the Supreme Court of Justice; Gerardo Vazquez Alatriste, Attorney General of Guanajuato; Juan Mauro Gonzalez Martinez, Secretary of Security and Peace; Sergio Jaime Rochin del Rincon, head of the State Commission for Victim Assistance; Bricio Balderas Alvarez, General Director of the Public Defender’s Office; and Luis Felipe Razo Angeles, General Director of Social Reintegration for Adolescents.

Secretary of Government, Jorge Jimenez Lona, acknowledged the work and commitment of the members of the Commission and reiterated that, through their work, the trust of citizens in the institutions of justice will be reinforced, consolidating a more accessible and effective model for all.
