Crews combat fires in Guanajuato

The State Public Security Secretary, through the State Civil Protection Coordination, reported that a group of crews made up of 187 people from various institutions and volunteers, continue to fight the fire that started in the Sierra de Santa Rosa in the municipality of Guanajuato.

Since last Sunday, March 24, work has been done to control and extinguish the forest fire, however, the strong gusts of wind have not helped and the fight against the fire continues with teams of fighters who have remained permanently at work.

According to preliminary reports, at the moment there are hot spots on an area of ​​approximately 400 hectares, in the vicinity of the San Bartolo community.

Forces participate in logistics, communication and coordination, combat, control and extinction of the fire.

There are 187 elements and 21 units, with the personnel and vehicles provided by different institutions and volunteer personnel:

• State Coordination of Civil Protection: 18 elements and 7 units
• C5i State System with 3 elements and 1 Mobile Radiocommunications Unit to facilitate coordination tasks
• Municipal Civil Protection Coordination with 9 elements and 7 units
• Secretary of the Environment and Territorial Planning with 11 elements
• National Forestry Commission with 15 elements and 3 units
• Aranjuez Forestry Brigade with 10 elements
• Rural Fire Management Brigade Guanajuato-AC Firefighters, Forestry Division with 11 elements and 3 units
• Voluntary group with 20 elements
• 90 elements and 1 Command Chief of the 16th Military Zone of the Secretary of National Defense are added to the fire control and combat tasks

An Incident Command System (SCI) was set up in the area of ​​the Canada de la Virgen community for logistics, coordination, communication and assignment of tasks to each of the brigades. Efforts will continue until the fire is controlled and extinguished.
