The Governor of the People, Libia Dennise Garcia Munoz Ledo, led the state delivery of support to corn producers in Guanajuato.

“In the People’s Government, we are reaffirming our support for our farmers in Guanajuato. Therefore, in this first phase, we are benefiting 3,401 producers in Abasolo, Penjamo, Jaral del Progreso, Valle de Santiago, San Francisco del Rincon, Acambaro, Celaya, and Salamanca, with an investment of 30.3 million pesos, for more than 202,000 tons of corn, which have already been validated,” said Libia Dennise.

In subsequent installments, said the Governor, a total of 150 million pesos in support will be provided, equivalent to one million tons sold, benefiting 20,300 producers in Guanajuato.

The Governor added that “we have established an open and constructive dialogue with the Federal Government so that the demands of the Guanajuatense agricultural sector are heard. Today it is important to raise our voices for our producers, working women and men.”

“I am very committed to continue to promote actions that will help the Guanajuatense farmers to keep moving forward, which is why today we are supporting our producers,” said Libia Dennise.

The Governor emphasized that the People’s Government aims to continue supporting the agricultural sector, which is why the proposed fiscal package for next year includes a doubling of funding for this sector, to allocate resources to various initiatives.

The Governor said that before the end of this year, 15 million pesos will be invested in corn storage, because it is also needed to obtain better prices for this product.

“We will continue to be a voice that accompanies farm producers, we will not leave you alone in the demand for fair prices, for fair competition, because we also produce quality products that go to the tables of many homes both in Mexico and in the world, that is why we must support our producers”, said Libia.

“We must close ranks and work as a team to achieve better things for the benefit of this sector,” said the Governor.
