During the Second Ordinary Session of the State Commission of Public Security Secretaries, the Secretary of Security and Peace of Guanajuato, Juan Mauro Gonzalez Martinez, called for strengthening inter-institutional coordination and joint efforts to strengthen security in Guanajuato.

“There’s no point in sitting at these tables if we don’t put them into practice. It’s not just about coordination, but about trust and shared responsibility. There are no political biases here; security is everyone’s responsibility,” said the Secretary.

During the session progress was reported on the fulfillment of municipal security commitments, and key indicators such as intentional homicide, intentional injuries, and robbery were analyzed.

Juan Mauro Gonzalez Martinez emphasized the importance of translating meetings and agreements into concrete results. He reiterated that the doors of the Secretary of Security and Peace will remain open and stressed the need to conduct intelligence work, “and for that, the Mayors and their security forces are not alone.”

The mayor of San Miguel de Allende, Mauricio Trejo Pureco, acknowledged the support of the Ministry of Security and the Guanajuato State Attorney General’s Office (FGE). “We are proof that when we come forward, the door is open. Security is not politicized; security is what we all create,” he said.

Pureco urged municipalities to fulfill their established commitments, because “crime is indeed decreasing, the strategy is working, and it will work even better if we all recognize the leadership of our Secretary Juan Mauro Gonzalez Martinez and if we work closely with the Attorney General’s Office.”
