Guanajuato manages to remain in 5th place as an exporting State above Tamaulipas during the third quarter of 2024, informed COFOCE

More than 230 thousand Guanajuato families are favorably impacted in their economic and labor development by Guanajuato exports.
According to INEGI data, Guanajuato maintains its 5th place as an exporting State at the national level, above Tamaulipas and the first non-border exporting State.
The most recent estimated figures by COFOCE reveal that from January to September of this year 2024:
- Exports from Guanajuato reached 29,962 million dollars
- It registers a variation of 14.39 percent more compared to the same period in 2023
- 37 exporting municipalities
- 1,861 exporting companies
- From municipalities such as Silao, Celaya, Apaseo el Grande, Salamanca, Irapuato, León, San José Iturbide, San Francisco del Rincón, Allende and Cortazar
Guanajuato once again demonstrates that it is a fertile ground for the internationalization of MSMEs, which represent the majority of companies in the State’s export registry with 80 percent, during the third quarter of 2024.
The behavior of the different sectors individually is recorded as follows:
- The industrial sector is the one that has grown the most in Guanajuato, representing 90.3 percent of exports
- Followed by the agro-food sector with 6.4 percent
- Fashion with 2.6 percent
- Construction with 0.4 percent
- Crafts with 0.3 percent
The main export destinations are:
- The United States of America, Canada, Brazil, Colombia, China, Guatemala, Puerto Rico, Australia, Chile and Japan
