As part of the comprehensive support to families affected by the floods in San Pedro de Ibarra, in Ocampo, the Guanajuato State DIF System in coordination with the State Civil Registry, brought the Mobile Civil Registry Unit to this town, to issue free of charge up to 732 birth certificates and CURP of the people of this town.

Through this joint strategy, community residents were able to complete various procedures free of charge, including: 407 birth certificates, 325 CURP (Customer Registration Numbers), 25 legal consultations, and two birth registrations, especially benefiting those who lost their official documents due to the floods.

The Director General of the Guanajuato State DIF System, Jose Alfonso Borja Pimentel, reaffirmed his commitment to the families of Ocampo and highlighted the importance of bringing these services closer to those who lost their documentation, since through this service they were able to process their lost documentation after the disaster.
“We know that having official documents is essential to guarantee identity, access to services, and the full exercise of rights. That’s why we bring this important service to your communities, so that no one is left behind,” said Borja.

Under the vision of Juan Carlos Montesinos Carranza, President of the Advisory Council of the State DIF System, a strategy is being implemented between the State DIF System and the State Civil Registry through which regularization campaigns are carried out on an ongoing basis in neighborhoods, communities, boroughs, and neighborhoods far from the municipal capitals, specifically targeting people in vulnerable situations.

These actions facilitate the registration of newborns, the reprinting of birth certificates for children, young people, adults, and seniors, as well as the regularization of marriages for couples who have lived together for years in a common-law union.
Montesinos said that with these actions, the People’s Government maintains its commitment to continue building a more just and inclusive Guanajuato, where all people have access to their fundamental rights.
