Tu Puedes Guanajuato, a new financial model that makes credit closer and more affordable: CANACINTRA Leon

Access to financing has historically been one of the main challenges for entrepreneurs and small business owners, especially in their initial growth stages.
Ivon Padilla Hernadez, General Director of the Tu Puedes Guanajuato Financial and Support Agency, explained in a meeting with members of the Chamber of the Transformation Industry (CANACINTRA) in Leon that the agency she leads emerges as an innovative alternative that changes the way credit is conceived and accessed, prioritizing proximity, flexibility, and inclusion.
“Through this model, we aim to eliminate the perception of financing as a distant, complicated, or inaccessible process. Instead, we promote a more human and practical financial culture, in which people can rely on real tools to start, consolidate, or expand their businesses,” said Ivon.
“This includes simple application schemes, technical support, and conditions tailored to diverse contexts,” said the Official.
Padilla Hernandez added that by facilitating access to credit for those who previously didn’t qualify or were hesitant to try, the program opens new doors to productive innovation, business formalization, and local job creation.
Jose de Jesus Hernandez Fuentes, President of CANACINTRA Leon, said that the loans offered by Tu Puedes Guanajuato reach the base of Guanajuato’s economic pyramid to benefit the primary and moderately developed sectors.
“I think what they’re doing at this level, taking entrepreneurs from less to more until they get a larger loan, is a good way to make the path more affordable and prevent our entrepreneurs and business owners from getting stuck in the complicated situation of obtaining credit,” said Hernandez.
“I think it’s good to do it gradually, and as entrepreneurs at CANACINTRA, we know that we have different business sizes. This financial model contributes greatly to a much better and easier financing culture,” said the President of CANACINTRA.
“My suggestion is to do so by focusing on the sectors, implementing a financial model that is viable, profitable, self-sustaining, and that doesn’t cost the State anything. We must find a way to have the lowest possible non-performing loans so that loans can actually be repaid and are more accessible to everyone,” Roxana Lastiri, head of the finance, administration, and fiscal committee at CANACINTRA Leon.
By bringing financing closer to people, Tu Puedes Guanajuato creates new opportunities for growth with autonomy, roots, and a vision for the future.
