Gto Health System attends more than 8 thousand births with psycho-emotional support

The Guanajuato Health Secretary reports the attention of 8,266 births with continuous psycho-emotional support.

The Secretary of Health, Ligia Arce Padilla, reported that 100 percent of births in Guanajuato are attended with a humanized, intercultural and safe approach.

There is a maternal network strengthened by 4 maternal and child hospitals, 19 community hospitals and 13 general hospitals that have the necessary infrastructure to provide the service.

In order to safeguard the integrity of the binomial, in 2023 a total of 8,266 cases had continuous psycho-emotional support throughout labor. This support is provided by trained health professionals and/or family members.

Arce Padilla added that the actions are focused according to the needs and clinical conditions of the users, in the obstetric emergency comprehensive medical care is provided in networks, resulting in a sustained decrease in the rate of maternal death in more than five years.

The percentage of morbidity and mortality of the binomial decreased by 35% to contribute to the decrease in infant mortality. There are neonatal intensive care units for the care of premature babies with respiratory, metabolic, septicemia and surgical difficulties.

Treatments are provided for congenital diseases such as heart disease, gastroschisis, spina bifida, among other, timely detection of signs and symptoms of dehydration due to diarrhea, and alarm data in acute respiratory infection to avoid complications.
