The Secretary of Security and Peace, Juan Mauro Gonzalez Martinez, led the Fifth Session of the State Commission of Secretaries of Public Security or their equivalents, in which he reiterated the need to work in coordination to maintain the decrease in homicides and high-impact crimes.

“We can’t do it alone, neither you, nor we, nor the federation, and we have achieved better results for the people,” the official said.

Gonzalez noted the coordination between Governor Libia Dennise Garcia Munoz Ledo and the President of Mexico, which must be replicated among municipalities to deliver results for citizens.

Gonzalez highlighted the sustained 60.7% drop in the daily average of intentional homicides in Guanajuato, thanks to the shared efforts of Authorities at all levels.

“Our only commitment and main objective is to continue reducing the crime incidence, and we all have to work together to achieve that,” said Gonzalez.

The Secretary of Citizen Security of Silao, Juan Jose Segoviano, highlighted the support received from State and Federal institutions. He also emphasized that coordination with neighboring municipalities, the C5i (National Council of Citizens), and the State Public Security Forces (FSPE) has been decisive in addressing the region’s needs.

Segoviano explained the results obtained at the most recent Silao fair, where, he said, there was an atmosphere of order and tranquility thanks to the inter-institutional support, “We had no vehicle thefts, and not a single high-impact crime.”

The head of the Executive Secretary of the State Public Security System, Adrian Mata Osio, emphasized that the recent legal transformation will require constant coordination with the Secretary of Security and Peace and the municipalities to comply with the new certification mechanisms, professional career services, and investigation protocols.

Mata also emphasized that Guanajuato is distinguished by its compliance and organization, as consistency will allow all municipalities to seamlessly access these resources by 2026.

Also participating in the session were civil and military Authorities and commands and representatives of the three levels of Government and of each of the municipalities of Guanajuato.
