“During 2023, the supply industry of Guanajuato experienced growth, but for the next year, it will be necessary to adopt training for the work force, obtain certifications and take the way towards diversification if we want to survive in a competitive market”, said Fernando Padilla Padilla President of the Association of Supplying Industrial Companies of Mexico -APIMEX-.
The entrepreneur added that the association closes the year with 232 associates, a growth of 22.75% compared to the last year in the number of affiliated companies and with a presence in 8 States of Mexico.
The APIMEX companies represent 13 thousand direct jobs, which are in sectors like:
- Shoe-leather, leather-goods,textile-clothing, nachinery, chemicals, gaskets, lasts, metalworks, soles, plastics among other
“As you know, APIMEX, formerly ANPIC, started by grouping companies of the shgoe, leather and leather-goods sectors, but with the demands of the market, we integrated new sectors to satisfy the changing needs of our customers, and APIMEX has been growing in sectors of suppliers”, said Fernando Padilla.
The President informed that to the list of diversified companies members of APIMEX 16 were added this year. Now it has 51 companies that already serve new sectors like automotive, furniture and agro-industrial.Padilla also said that until now, 49% of the associated companies export to more than 13 countries products like:
- Leather, metal sheets, material for medical gear, soles, machinery, agriculture products, chemical products, EVA products, laces, synthetics, adhesives, heels, lastas, among other
The President of APIMEX said that the United States of America is still the most important trade associate for Mexico, since 83% of our exports go to that neighboring country in the North.
Other countries where APIMEX associates export are:
- Canada, China, Germany, Spain, Brazil, Japan, United Kingdom, Colombia and Guatemala
Guanajuato, said Padilla, is still first place as an exporting non-border State, and it is fifth place as an exporter State in Mexico and according to COFOCE, from January to September 2023, Guanajuato exported 27 thousand 56 million dollars, that is, a 6.9% increase compared to last year.
“It is our responsibility to create training and all that is necessary for integral development of companies is adopted and more than anything that the growth of our associates is evident. Without this, and without certification, companies from Guanajuato will not be able to open their doors to internationalization and towards new markets. From APIMEX we are going to provide everything that is necessary so that they can take this important step”, said Ana Maria Carpio Mendoza, Executive President of APIMEX.
