The leather-footwear industry reaffirms its leadership as a creative and economic engine by setting global fashion trends through spaces like ANPIC Design Fest, one of the most important sourcing exhibitions in Latin America.

While welcoming 22 states from the Mexican Republic and 5 countries to one of the most anticipated fashion supply events in Latin America, ANPIC Design Fest, the Mayor of Leon, Ale Gutierrez said that this space provides cultural richness and identity to the city.

Ale Gutierrez highlighted that this type of events strengthen the city’s identity, innovation, and international projection.

“Leon is distinguished by hosting great events, but SAPICA and ANPIC have been fundamental pieces in giving Leon this trajectory. These 450 years, of which 46 have been marked by ANPIC, because 46 are making these types of dreams that make people come and recognize the talent found in Leon,” said Ale.

From March 18 to 19, more than 80 national companies and 30 local businesses are participating in this space that promotes commercial networking, innovation, and the growth of micro, small, and medium-sized enterprises, by connecting with raw material suppliers of leather, hides, soles, textiles, and synthetic materials.

Additionally, the Spring-Summer 2027 trends are being presented during the event, consolidating this forum as a key showcase for anticipating the direction of the fashion industry.

“Each of these exhibitors sets trends and fashion, and the art displays we have here are impressive. Each of the products is handled by hands from Leon or other places, but each one sets a trend and is the envy of both national and international markets,” said the Mayor of Leon.

Claudia Cristina Villasenor Aguilar, Secretary of Economy of the State of Guanajuato, invited attendees to take advantage of this space to generate strategic alliances, innovate, and diversify their businesses.

“I want to invite everyone participating today to seize this space to build alliances, get to know one another; we never know when an opportunity might arise, it might be right next to you,” said the Secretary.

Among the industry specialists present at ANPIC MUSA Design Fest are Lucy Lara, Louis Verdad, Farah Slim, Montserrat Messeguer, and Olivia Meza de la Orta, who will be giving lectures; additionally, the traditional ANPIC fashion runway will take place.

Encounters like ANPIC MUSA Design Fest drive the sustainable growth of the industry, strengthen production chains, and position Mexican fashion on the global stage, generating more opportunities for the economic development of Leon and Guanajuato.
