An inclusive Guanajuato is now more real

An increasingly inclusive Guanajuato and a more inclusive society that respects the rights of people with disabilities suggests progress in the matter in the coming years in this entity.

The head of the Institute for People with Disabilities, Jose Grimaldo Colmenero said that “because the current situation does not present challenges and opportunities still we must work on moving forward”.
In a solemn session of the Advisory and Directive Councils of INGUDIS, the General Director Grimaldo Colmenero highlighted that today, “those who live in this condition are protagonists of the development of this Guanajuatense society based on their capabilities and their goals of transcending”.

In compliance with current regulations, INGUDIS reported on its institutional actions this year, where actions to promote labor inclusion stand out: more than 160 people with disabilities joined formal employment in actions by this institution.

“More than offering a simple job, we offer these people the opportunity to actively participate in Guanajuato society, promoting their personal and professional development. To date, we have carried out 365 of these evaluations, evidencing our commitment to workplace inclusion and recognition of the potential of each individual”, said Colmenero.

Actions have been achieved aiming at preventing, caring for, rehabilitating and achieving the social reintegration of people in vulnerable situations, benefiting more than 450 people directly and generating a positive impact in various areas.

Colmenero noted that “it is a collective commitment towards a truly inclusive Guanajuato. In Guanajuato, inclusion is experienced, we have witnessed significant progress in the construction of a society where each individual, regardless of his or her abilities, can fully participate in community life”.

The Director of INGUDIS expressed his gratitude to the authorities at all levels of government. 

“Your strong commitment to the inclusion of people with disabilities has been fundamental to the success of our initiatives. We recognize and value your constant support, which has paved the way towards a more accessible and participatory Guanajuato”, said Colmenero.
