In the 2024-2025 school year, 76.5 percent of students in Guanajuato who exercised using the Joy of Moving technique improved their attention in class after participating in dynamics that promote physical movement through play.

Led by the Governor of the People, Libia Dennise Garcia Munoz Ledo, through the Ministry of Education (SEG) and the State DIF System, an agreement was signed with Ferrero Mexico to expand the scope of the Joy of Moving program , an international educational initiative that promotes the physical, cognitive and emotional development of girls and boys through play.

“For us, this program is a great example of what we want for Guanajuato: the physical and emotional health of our children in Guanajuato. It means a lot to this Government of the People,” said the State Governor.
In her message, the Governor emphasized that this joint effort represents a fundamental step in strengthening the physical and emotional health of Guanajuato’s children.

“When we talk about Joy of Moving, we’re not just talking about physical activity, but about a constant in life: mobility and change. This is what we’re called to do: to raise resilient children who can adapt to any situation that may arise in their lives. We don’t want them to stop being children; we want them to play, to share, to run in safe environments to engage in all these activities,” the Governor said.

The ceremony was held in the auditorium of the Meritorious Centenary Teacher Training School of Guanajuato, where the Secretary of Education, Luis Ignacio Sanchez Gomez, shared numbers on the benefits children experienced by changing the way they exercise. He noted that 77.3 percent of students improved their behavior, resulting in a positive development for peace within the classroom.
Paolo Cornero, President and CEO of Ferrero Mexico and Central America, mentioned that Guanajuato is fertile ground for the growth and development of a program that has yielded positive results in vulnerable communities.

With this agreement, 50 teachers and 25 community leaders will travel to Italy to train as Supertrainers at the Kinder Village in Alba, Cuneo, Piedmont, Italy. They will share their knowledge to train 1,000 teachers and 75 community leaders in Guanajuato.

It is expected to reach more than one million girls and boys across the State with education, inclusive, and non-competitive activities.

The Joy of Moving program, implemented in Guanajuato since 2021, has already trained 1,000 teachers, representing 45.8% of the total number of physical education specialists in the State, and has benefited more than 192,000 students from 850 schools. In addition, 20 teachers have already been trained in Italy, a number that will now be significantly multiplied.
