In light of the raids carried out in the United States, particularly in Los Angeles, California, Governor Libia Dennise Garcia Munoz Ledo expressed her solidarity and support to the people of Guanajuato who are in that country.

“Today, they are experiencing a persecution that criminalizes and dehumanizes, and that as Mexicans it cannot be allowed. Our solidarity from Guanajuato,” said the Governor during the broadcast of the program Connecting with the People, which featured the participation of Karina Padilla Avila, head of the Environmental and Land Use Planning Attorney Office.

Libia Dennise said that Los Angeles is home to a significant community of Guanajuatense residents. “I want to tell our migrants that you are not alone. You have the full support of the People’s Government through the four Guanajuato liaison offices in the United States. They are on constant alert, providing assistance regarding immigration matters.”
We are connecting our Guanajuatense migrants with the legal structure of the Mexican Consulates responsible for providing legal advice to those facing possible deportation. Through these offices, we are also connecting our migrants with their families residing in Guanajuato, explained the Governor.

Libia said that there is permanent contact with the Secretary of Foreign Affairs through the various Consulates in the United States to provide comprehensive assistance to Guanajuatenses who request support.
“We are closely monitoring this entire situation, and so far, we have no knowledge of any Guanajuatense residents being detained,” the Governor said.
