In order to maintain a direct, permanent and effective communication with the tourism sector, the Secretary of Tourism and Identity (SECTURI) and the Secretary of Security and Peace of the Government of Guanajuato held the reunion with the private sector, at the C5i facilities, in Puerto Interior, in Silao.

The meeting brought together business leaders, chamber presidents, hotel and restaurant associations, and tourism promotion agencies as part of an active listening strategy to gain firsthand knowledge of the security perceptions of business owners and visitors, as well as to strengthen joint actions to offer safe, reliable, and competitive destinations under the People’s Government led by Libia Dennise Garcia Munoz Ledo.

Secretary of Tourism and Identity, Maria Guadalupe Robles Leon, emphasized that security is a fundamental pillar for the State’s tourism development.
“Security and tourism go hand in hand. That’s why we actively listen to the sector, because no one knows the territory and the visitor experience better than those who receive and serve our tourists every day,” said Lupita Robles.

Robles noted that the coordinated work of State agencies allows for clearer progress and better results.
“Today we reaffirm our commitment to work together with the Secretary of Security and Peace, with the municipalities and with the private sector to build a peaceful Guanajuato, where our visitors feel safe from the moment they arrive until they return home,” said the Secretary.

The meeting showcased the actions implemented by the Secretary of Security and Peace, led by Juan Mauro Gonzalez Martinez, as well as the progress and results of the CONFIA strategy “Operational Coordination of the New Anti-Crime Intelligence Force”, focused on prevention and timely attention to strengthen peace in the State.
Increased surveillance and attention were ensured on strategic routes and road sections, especially those with high tourist traffic, as well as access points to destinations, tourist corridors and hotel zones.

Coordination with the National Guard and the Secretary of National Defense was also reported, to strengthen security on Federal and State highways. It was also agreed to improve and streamline communication and emergency reporting mechanisms in hotels, restaurants and tourist businesses, in order to guarantee quick and effective responses to any eventuality.
