Jorge Adolfo Olmos Gonzalez is 25 years old and works in the shoe industry as a puncher in the assembly area, he is in charge of joining the sole to the shoe.

He recently certified his junior high school studies after receiving education services from the Institute of Literacy and Basic Education for Adults –INAEBA- , although it is an achievement that he has kept secret to surprise his wife Tania and their 8-year-old daughter Evelyn.

He wants to break the news on a special day, “for February 14, yes! maybe on the 14th I will surprise them as I tell them that I finished my studies. I have not told them yet, it was an achievement that I wanted to do first for myself, and then later tell my family that little by little, I was completing my studies”, said Olmos.

Jorge feels grateful to INAEBA and to the “Chabelo ” shoe factory in the city of Leon, for the opportunity as they let him study inside his workplace, “I thank INAEBA for helping me fulfill the dream of finishing my junior high and now I hope to continue with high school.

“For a long time, a major in Architecture caught my attention, but for reasons of money I couldn’t do it. But hey, right now with the opportunity to resume studies with INAEBA, the truth is that it motivates one to keep going,” said Olmos Gonzalez.

Olmos will start with high school and look for alternatives to be able to complete his university studies; he said that it will be “complicated, but not impossible”, considering that he has to support his family.

Jorge invites his co-workers to take advantage of the opportunities that the Government of Guanajuato offers through INAEBA so that people aged 15 and over can complete their basic education.
