In the commitment of the new 2025-2027 Board of Directors of COPARMEX Metropolitan Zone Leon, the Governor of Guanajuato, Libia Dennise Garcia Munoz Ledo, reaffirmed her support for the business sector and shared important advances in water infrastructure, security, and support for MSMEs.

“You have the support of the State Government to continue building the Guanajuato and Mexico we all want,” said the Governor.

Libia celebrated the renewed leadership at COPARMEX, recognizing the work of outgoing president Hector Rodriguez Velazquez and wishing success to the new president, Michel Sojo Quiroz, she also highlighted the new council’s commitment to greater inclusion of women and youth in the business sector, a vision fully shared by the State Government.

One of the Governor’s most significant announcements in the event was the progress of the Solis Aqueduct project, a strategic project to supply drinking water to five municipalities in the industrial corridor:
- Celaya, Salamanca, Irapuato, Silao, and Leon

The Governor reported that, following a recent meeting with the National Water Commission (CONAGUA), they are close to signing the Collaboration Agreement that will allocate a budget for its construction.
“We are very close to completing this long-awaited project for Guanajuato. The modernization of farming is already underway and will allow us to release up to 120 million cubic meters of water for domestic use,” said Libia.

The project, which will be carried out with the support of SEDENA, involves an investment of approximately 15 billion pesos, shared between the Federal Government, the State Government, and the benefited municipalities. Construction is expected to begin in the second half of the year, starting on the stretch from Leon to Salamanca.
The Governor also shared encouraging results in terms of security, highlighting that May 2025 was the month with the fewest intentional homicides in the last eight years in Guanajuato, according to preliminary figures from the federal Secretary of Security.
