In an atmosphere of collaboration and co-responsibility, the education community of the Jean Piaget preschool, in the town of Cieneguilla, in the municipality of Victoria, got to work to create a spectacular nativity scene with four main objectives:

  • Participation in the 3rd Cultural and Entrepreneurship Exhibition 2024, organized by the basic education schools of Cieneguilla
  • Strengthen school unity
  • Promoting the participation of mothers and fathers
  • Earn an economic benefit for their school

With talent and creativity they gave life to the beautiful Christmas nativity scene which represents a tradition deeply rooted in Mexican culture.

The scene is made up of 13 characters made with materials such as jute, corn leaves, recycled material, cardboard, and ixtle thread, among other. The figures measure from 1 meter and 40 centimeters depending on the piece. In addition, it includes a house made from reeds.

The project was planned months in advance and completed in two weeks, working from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Parents, guided by the management and teaching staff, and with the collaboration of the preschool children, met on different occasions to design and build each of the elements that make up this work of art, from sewing and carpentry to assembly and final details, since each piece was created with dedication and care.

Maria Monica Ramirez Suarez, vice president of the parents’ committee at the Jean Piaget preschool, thanked those who believed in and supported the entrepreneurial project, which was a complete success thanks to teamwork. She said that, in addition to further motivating the participation of all those who are part of the school, with this action, mothers and fathers, “are pursuing the goal of improving the preschool for the girls and boys who now occupy the facilities but also for future generations, and in doing so, leaving a mark on the school forever.”

Juana Garcia Suarez, the preschool director, reiterated that one of the aspects to highlight in this project is the collaboration in the education community, “we want moms and dads to reflect on how important teamwork is, it will always be more enriching than individual work and on this occasion we confirmed this, even the girls and boys actively participated in gluing sheets with glue and painting, in addition to learning about this tradition.”

The final result of this entrepreneurial project will be consolidated with the sale of the artwork, in order to subsequently invest the resources in improvements to the preschool.
