During the “Valley of Mindfacture Meeting”, IDEA GTO, the Information Technology Cluster of Guanajuato -CLUTIG- and the Mexican Association of Business Women of Leon -AMEXME-, the formal inauguration of the WOMENTEFACTURA 2.0 program was held, and it aims to train 450 women from Guanajuato in Artificial Intelligence, reinforcing the training in technology and soft skills.
Juan Antonio Reus Montano, Director of IDEA GTO, expressed his deep admiration for the women of Guanajuato who fight every day to get ahead, so Womentefacture becomes a support for them, businesswomen and entrepreneurs who seek to improve themselves through the development of skills and knowledge.
Reus said that the Valley of Mindfacture continues to consolidate, being second place in patent applications and third place nationally in invention applications, which is why it has the historical responsibility of leading through innovation and also being the cradle of technological independence, not only from Mexico, but from Latin America.
“The Guanajuato that we deserve is a Guanajuato that we design every day, that is inspired by the best practices but that has the necessary talent to design its own future, a future that is tailored to its needs. This generation of Womentefacture responded incredibly to the call, it filled up very quickly and that speaks of the interest that exists in the women of Guanajuato, as they are looking to have a great ally in technology”, said Reus.
Carlos Torres Barrientos, Director of Innovation of the City of Leon, said that the programs with the greatest impact in Leon are those that develop women, such as the one carried out with Victoria 147, where 95% of the participants completed their training.
“You are going to create the ecosystem from mentoring, from businesswomen, from those who are working at that point, the innovation and entrepreneurship project that we have in Agriculture this year was won by a woman of science, we are beginning to change history that science moves to business and this could not exist without the public policy of the Valley of Mindfacture, encourage yourselves to move your businesses forward, to start redesigning again, and that is precisely what Womentefacture offers”, said Torres Barrientos.
Marco Reyes Vargas, President of the Board of Directors of the Guanajuato Information Technology Cluster -CLUTIG-, said that opportunities must be promoted and generated for women in the STEM part, changing the mentality to give them the opportunity to be leaders in Technology.
Vargas also said that CLUTIG wants and encourages that more women every day adopt the practice of science and technology.
Adriana Rodriguez Vizcarra, representative of Linaje Flor del Bajio, shared with the attendees that she was very excited for the women of this association to participate in Womentefacture because it is an opportunity to break down barriers and advance in technology issues.
“When IDEA proposed to us to participate in Womentefacture we immediately accepted because it is a golden opportunity to develop ourselves, this door that was opened for the Flor del Bajio lineage will help us eliminate barriers and that is one thing that we will have to do together so that this ecosystem can work in a much more natural way and that we can all have that access”, said Adriana.
Cecilia Ovalle, president of AMEXME, said that “women are mothers in their families, wives, daughters, trainers of children and collaborators, one is born with the fear of being a woman because we always hear a no, however, in Mexico, in Guanajuato we have the Valley of Mindfacture, which is a great opportunity because we all come into this Valley and from AMEXME we will be promoting more and more so that the women of our State are no longer afraid and achieve their dreams”, said Ovalle.
Over the next 6 months, the 450 women enrolled in the program will be trained in:
- Data Analytics with Excel, Innovation 360*, Critical thinking and leadership at work, and Storytelling with data.
The program consists of a 3-month AI Practitioner Course, 2-day remote Hackathon and one day in person, online Webinars every 2 weeks with industry experts.
During this event, Womentefacture 3.0 was formally announced, for which pre-registration is now open.
With programs like Womentefacture, the Valley of Mindfacture is consolidated as the best and most inclusive innovation and entrepreneurship ecosystem in the region.
