Arantxa has participated three times in the Space Habitats Design Tournament (SSDT – TODHE GTO) carried out by IDEA GTO in collaboration with SpaceportMX; she challenged herself, managing to be the coordinator of various projects during the tournaments.
Her outstanding leadership has catapulted her as the leader of the representative team of Mexico in the International Space Settlement Design Competition, which requires greater knowledge and understanding of space issues, commitment, creativity, and an outstanding level of English. She is not only the first woman to coordinate a team of this level, but she will also represent Guanajuato for the first time in this Tournament.
Arantxa has been passionate about science and space since an early age. Her skill and creativity have led her to conquer not only academic but also personal achievements.
The Spatial Habitats Design Tournament is an opportunity that the Valley of Mindfacture through IDEA GTO offers high school students in Guanajuato to live a unique experience of total immersion in an interactive and dynamic environment, where they will improve their knowledge in Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts and Mathematics –STEAM-, thanks to the opportunity to work alongside NASA engineers and other experts in the space sector. The call for this Tournament closes on November 20 and the challenge will take place from November 31 to December 3.
For Arantxa, SSDT – TODHE GTO is a window of opportunity that has led her to build networks with young people from all over the world, gaining experience on how to work in an aerospace company in real life. Her participation has not only given her practical knowledge, but also the opportunity to share ideas and experiences with mentors and space industry experts.
