One million Mazda units!

‘Productivity in Guanajuato is at world levels and Mazda proves it’

Talent, hard work and creativity of people from Japan and Mexico has achieved the production of one million units of Mazda in Guanajuato, said the Governor Diego Sinhue Rodriguez Vallejo.

“Guanajuato is a rich assortment of tales of success, like the story of this plant, the biggest Mazda plant outside Japan. Today it is a historical event that places productivity of the Guanajuatense workers at the same level as that of the best in the world”, said Rodriguez Vallejo.

More than a number

The President and CEO of Mazda Mexico, Chiharu Mizutani, said that reaching one million units in the Salamanca Plant represents more than a number, “It is the commitment to offer a product of quality that satisfies the highest expectations of our customers”, said Mizutani.

“And it is gratifying to be part of the social and economic development of the State of Guanajuato, and we will go on this way, adding to the history of success that Guanajuato is, one million thanks”, said the CEO of Mazda.

Growing presence

In his turn the President and CEO of Mazda Motor Corporation, Akira Marumoto, said that nowadays this company which in January completed 100 years of operations is present in 130 countries, and since this plant started operations in Guanajuato it has achieved more coverage in the local markets of North America and Europe.

Marumoto thanked the support of the State Government to complete the installation of the company that has added to the growth of the State. “Guanajuato and Salamanca are home for Mazda”, he added.

Also in this event was the Interim Consul General of Japan in Leon, Kayoko Furakawa, who said that the friendship among the Japanese and Guanajuatenses is stronger day after day, and proof of that is the presence of some 300 Japanese companies in Guanajuato and more than 2 thousand Japanese nationals living in the State.

A success story

This first million units is only a point of arrival, but it is also a departure point to achieve new goals because Mazda and Guanajuato have vision, said the Diego Sinhue Rodriguez Vallejo.

“We thank the officials of Mazda and its many supplying companies for their trust in our State and for being an essential part of the Greatness of Guanajuato. Together we are building a success story”, said the Governor.
