Guanajuato grows well above the national average

Guanajuato achieves a growth of 1.7%, exceeding the national average. Sectors like construction, energy, and mining are leading industrial progress

Guanajuato registered a growth of 1.7 percent in its industrial activity during the period January-December 2025, exceeding the national average of -1.3 percent, according to data from the National Institute of Statistics and Geography (INEGI), which reflects the strength of the State economy.

This performance is a result of the leadership of the People’s Governor, Libia Dennise Garcia Munoz Ledo, who has promoted an economic policy focused on strengthening productive sectors, promoting investment and generating conditions for the sustained development of Guanajuato.

By subsector, the State stood out nationally in construction, with a growth of 22.2 percent that places it in first place; in electricity, water and gas, with an increase of 20.9 percent, placing it in second position; as well as in mining, with a growth of 9.0 percent, placing it in fourth national position.

The State Government, through the Secretary of Economy, maintains a comprehensive strategy to consolidate industrial development, based on attracting investments, strengthening Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) and integrating value chains.

Also, the professionalization of Guanajuato’s talent is being promoted through specialized training programs, in order to respond to the demands of the productive sectors and increase the State’s competitiveness.

Guanajuato continues to position itself as one of the states with the greatest industrial dynamism in Mexico, advancing in the construction of a more solid, diversified economy with greater opportunities for the people of Guanajuato.
