Tu Puedes Guanajuato protects farmers and rural entrepreneurship with affordable loans

In an effort to prevent the primary sector of the State from coming to a standstill due to a lack of liquidity, Tu Puedes Guanajuato held a working meeting with the leaders of the National Council of Societies and Unions with Farmers and Settlers (CONSUCC) and the Agency for Modernization, Innovation and Agricultural Development (AMIDA).

Ivon Padilla Hernandez, general director of Financiera de la Gente, said that the main objective of the meeting was to put on the table the new financing schemes for 2026, which have been redesigned to adapt to the harvest cycles and the technological needs that the Guanajuatense farmers demand.

“We bring the necessary information to the sector. A sector that we have been paying attention to in the State Government, in the People’s Government, which is the primary sector,” said Padilla.

“But we’re not just here to talk about this Progresa financing, but about all the financing options we have at this Financiera and Apoyos Tu Puedes Guanajuato as well, so that they can continue strengthening the agricultural sector. The great benefits we offer are the very low interest rates, compared to the rest of the market,” said Ivon.

The Official noted the improvements to the “Progresa” loan program, one of the most anticipated tools for producers. This program increased its loan amount from 500,000 pesos to 1.5 million pesos, with a 12-month repayment term and a competitive interest rate, allowing farmers to acquire machinery and supplies without straining their finances.

“I would like to thank our governor for her outreach to our people here in the municipality of Salvatierra, where people from 11 municipalities attended, all of whom are interested in obtaining financing or credit to complement the work they do on a daily basis,” said Erasto Patino Soto, leader of the National Council of Societies and Units with Farmers and Settlers (CONSUCC).

“Many are involved in sorghum farming, others have businesses and could benefit from these loans, which have a lower interest rate than other institutions,” said Patino.

“We thank our governor for this outreach to the people, for these loans that will benefit the entire state of Guanajuato, and all we can do as a civil association is to reach out to people and guide them through the process, gather the necessary requirements, and obtain their loans,” said Cristina Herrera, representative of the Agency for Modernization, Innovation and Agricultural Development (AMIDA)

Present in this reunion were producers from:

  • Salvatierra, Acambaro, Valle de Santiago, Yuriria, Villagran, Jaral del Progreso, Tarimoro, Celaya and Apaseo el Alto
