The color, identity, and tradition of Mexico are traveling farther than ever before. Rosa Mexicano, a Guanajuatense company dedicated to create contemporary handcrafted jewelry and accessories, is a clear example of how Guanajuatense talent can be projected onto the world stage with the support of the People’s Government, through the strategic guidance of COFOCE.

Founded 14 years ago by Julia Alejandra Gallardo, Rosa Mexicano was born from a deep love for craftsmanship and the cultural roots of Mexico.

Based in Valle de Santiago, Guanajuato, the company has built a unique approach that fuses traditional artisanal techniques with contemporary design, giving life to hand-painted pieces that tell stories of identity, color, and collective work.
“COFOCE’s support has been very enriching; it has saved us all the headaches of starting out and knowing nothing, especially regarding to customs, which is very delicate. Their support has been very comprehensive and complete,” said Julia Alejandra Gallardo, founder of Rosa Mexicano.

Today, this women-led micro, small, and medium-sized enterprise (MSME) generates jobs and economic stability for families in Guanajuato that have found in Rosa Mexicano an opportunity for personal and professional growth.
With the support of COFOCE, the company began its export process in 2018 and currently brings its creations to the United States market, in addition to having participated in important international platforms and fairs such as L’Artigiano in Fiera in Italy, Global Village in Dubai, Las Vegas Market, and Los Angeles Market.

This success story reflects the vision of Governor Libia Denisse Garcia Munoz Ledo, who has promoted an economic development policy with a human, inclusive, and gender-sensitive approach, where entrepreneurs receive the necessary tools to compete in international markets without losing their essence.

“I feel very proud, I have always felt a great sense of belonging within this company, because in it I can express myself through painting; I can put a little bit of my personality, my touch, everything I am. So it gives me great pride that our pieces reach the hands of people in other countries and that they learn a little bit about what Rosa Mexicano and Mexico are through our work,” said Jennifer Figueroa Cano, a collaborating painter.

With stories like Rosa Mexicano’s, the People’s Government reaffirms its commitment to continue supporting micro, small and medium-sized enterprises, strengthening the local productive fabric and demonstrating that when you believe in the talent of people, Guanajuato transcends borders.
