Guanajuato attracts $1.741 billion in automotive investment

With 19 automotive projects worth $1.741 billion, 6,460 jobs will be created

The People’s Government supports the sector in consolidating its productive operations

During the current administration, the People’s Government has completed 19 projects in the automotive and auto parts sector, with an investment of 1.741 billion dollars and a commitment to create 6,460 jobs.

Under the vision of Governor Libia Dennise Garcia Munoz Ledo, Guanajuato is consolidating its leadership in the automotive sector and its supply chain, preserving and generating new jobs for the people of Guanajuato.

The Secretary of Economy, Claudia Cristina Villasenor Aguilar, is promoting the State’s competitive advantages to position Guanajuato as an attractive investment destination and one of the most dynamic clusters in North America.

These investments come from:

• Germany, Japan, Spain, the United States, China, Korea, Mexico and Italy

Plants will open in:

• Apaseo el Grande, Irapuato, San Miguel de Allende, Guanajuato City, Leon, Silao, Abasolo and San Jose Iturbide

Through the Secretary of Economy, a permanent dialogue is maintained with the automotive industry and suppliers to detect temporary adjustments, specific needs and opportunities for productive reconversion.

In addition, direct support is offered through strengthening programs, job training, linking with local talent and attraction strategies focused on electromobility and relocation of supply chains.

To strengthen the automotive-auto parts sector, micro, small and medium-sized enterprises (MSMEs) are supported in their integration into broad value chains and in strengthening the domestic market.

The People’s Government, through the Secretary of Economy, promotes Guanajuato’s industrial leadership with a diversification strategy towards high-value sectors, based on inclusion, diversification and connectivity to guarantee long-term prosperity.
