Guanajuato works to grow in international events

Secretaries are preparing for a 2026 with great fairs and a historic international presence

Guanajuato will have a historic participation in FITUR, in Madrid, where Mexico will be the guest country

The Government of the State of Guanajuato anticipated an intense and strategic tourism agenda for 2026, which will strengthen the State’s national and international projection with the support of the People’s Government led by Libia Dennise Garcia Munoz Ledo.

Secretary Lupita Robles Leon noted that the year will begin with one of the most important events in the country.

“We start this year 2026 first with the Leon State Fair, as you always know, one of the main fairs, the most important family fair in Mexico,” said Maria Guadalupe Robles Leon. 

The State Fair of Leon maintains high expectations for growth in visitors and hotel occupancy, strengthening the local economy from the beginning of the year.

Subsequently, Guanajuato will have a historic participation in FITUR, in Madrid, where Mexico will be the guest country.

“Guanajuato goes with a very strong presence, never seen before, with a strengthened space. Here 12 municipalities are joining us, each with cultural presence and touristic offer,” said Robles.

The international agenda will continue in Colombia, with the participation in the most important tourism fair in Latin America, and later in the Tianguis Turistico in Acapulco.

“It’s a very busy schedule. We just get back from FITUR and in 15 days we’re in Colombia… then comes the Tianguis Turistico in Acapulco,” said Robles.

The aim is to boost tourism in 2026 with the new brand that will be presented by the Governor of Guanajuato in the coming days.
