With the commitment to be “less of a bureaucratic window and more of citizens,” as instructed by Governor Libia Dennise Garcia Munoz Ledo, the Institute of Planning, Statistics, and Geography (Iplaneg) took to the streets of Purisima del Rincon to listen directly to the citizens.
Graciela Amaro Hernandez, head of Iplaneg, visited homes, businesses, and public areas to talk with residents about their needs, concerns, and proposals. Graciela also shared information about the People’s Government programs and explained how the Institute’s work contributes to improve the quality of life in Guanajuato.
“Governor Libia asked us to come and listen to you, to tell you what we are working on, and how we can build a better Guanajuato together for everyone,” said Amaro Hernandez.
During the tour, Martin Carmona emphasized the importance of these visits: “It’s wonderful what they’re doing for merchants, having them personally visit our businesses so we know we have the support of our Governor Libia.”
The tour also included a visit to an elementary school, where the head of Iplaneg spoke with the children about the importance of imagining, proposing, and actively participating in transforming the environment. There, Graciela invited them to join the “My Path to 60” painting and drawing contest, an initiative that promotes creativity and a vision for the future from childhood.
