The alliance opens access to knowledge and fosters the global competitiveness of local talent

Leon/Gto News

In line with the vision of the Governor of the People, Libia Dennise Garcia Munoz Ledo, to strengthen the competitiveness and talent of Guanajuato through education and innovation, the Coordinator for the Promotion of Foreign Trade (COFOCE) and the Virtual University of the State of Guanajuato (UVEG) announced in a press conference the digitalization of the Learn to Export program, an initiative that seeks to train and strengthen the export capacities of micro, small and medium-sized companies in the State.

This program, previously taught in person by COFOCE, will now be available on UVEG’s education platform, starting November 10th. This will democratize access to knowledge in foreign trade and bring it to more businesspeople, entrepreneurs and students, regardless of their geographic location.

During the event, Luis Ernesto Rojas Avila, General Director of COFOCE, noted that this alliance represents a strategic step toward the internationalization of Guanajuato’s talent.

“With COFOCE already 34 years old, I think this course is obvious, since the beginning in 1992, the title has not changed, what has changed is all the content, the world has changed impressively, the world goes beyond tariffs, certification, the issue of transformation, digitalization, new markets, etcetera, all of this represents a mosaic of challenges and opportunities, that is why we launched it through UVEG,” said Rojas Avila.

The director noted that Learn to Export has become a national benchmark, as it offers practical tools and specialized knowledge on logistics, regulations and international trade strategies, thus strengthening the competitiveness of Guanajuato’s SMEs.

“With the Learn to Export course, we are fulfilling one of the guidelines of Governor Libia Dennise García Muñoz Ledo, which is digitalization. It is important not only to retain knowledge; before, people were left with only knowledge. Now, we are digitalizing and democratizing it for all companies, large and small, of all types, but above all, also for those who want to learn to export as a business incubator. I believe that with this, we are contributing to the Government’s plan,” said UVEG Rector Jose Ricardo Narvaez Martinez.

The program will be available 100 percent online, with a duration of 50 hours of training, including a Masterclass , and offers a microcredential with institutional validity that accredits the skills developed by participants.

The Learn to Export program covers seven thematic modules, including international promotion and marketing , the regulatory framework for foreign trade , the negotiation process , and export price development , among others. It is designed to offer practical tools and strategies that facilitate the integration of Guanajuatense products into global markets.
