Financing is brought to the Sierra Gorda

Tu Puedes Guanajuato delivers the “We Believe in You” support in municipalities of the Sierra Gorda of Guanajuato

In an effort to bring real opportunities to the most remote areas of the State, the Government of Guanajuato, through the Tu Puedes Guanajuato Financial and Support Company, delivered support of the “We Believe in You” program in the municipalities of Atarjea, Victoria, Xichu and Santa Catarina.

Ivon Padilla Hernandez, General Director of “Financiera de la Gente,” explained that this initiative, promoted by Governor Libia Dennise Garcia Munoz Ledo, aims to spur economic development in rural, indigenous, and highly vulnerable communities.

“This support is for the hardworking people, for the people who need a boost. She knew we were going to meet here in the northeast. I know that with this support, you will move ahead,” said Padilla.

“The governor believes in you, she trusts you. That’s why she created this program, “We Believe in You,” a very powerful word that lifts our spirits and inspires the responsibility we have to move forward,” said Ivon.

The Official recalled that just last September 10th, the initial entrepreneurship workshops were held, where applicants for this support learned to believe in themselves and what they can do.

The support is accompanied by advice and training for those who request it, allowing beneficiaries not only to receive the resources but also to acquire tools to manage them effectively should they later request financing. Priority was given to women and young people who met the requirements and who represent a key force in local economic development.

At this stage, 303 grants were delivered:

• 100 people from Victoria
• 74 inhabitants of Santa Catarina
• 53 of Atarjea and
• 76 for residents of Xichu

Angel Giovanni Hernandez Mata, an entrepreneur from the Mision de Arnedo community in Victoria, received support from “We Believe in You” to expand his small business selling gorditas, quesadillas, and tacos, which he runs with his mother.

He’s a university student who decided three months ago to take the next step and start his own business. Currently, most of the furniture he owns has been sourced from family, friends, and neighbors.

“I found out about the support through a friend t. I was interested in helping so I can make my business grow. It’s a good way to get ahead; the process was very easy,” said Angel.
