The number of visitors arriving in Guanajuato by plane increased this year, strengthening the destination with first-class air connectivity, thanks to the People’s Government’s push to promote the State.

This result reaffirms the importance of teamwork with the Secretary of Tourism and Identity to strengthen the airport as a strategic connector for business, tourism, and cargo.

“From the Government of the State of Guanajuato and under the leadership of our Governor, we congratulate and recognize these achievements, because they boost tourism and strengthen the trust of visitors and travelers in our State,” explained the SECTURI Secretary.

The El Bajio International Airport from January to August 2025:
- Reported 2.2 million passengers using its services
- An increase of 6.7% compared to the same period in 2024
- Numbers provided by Grupo Aeroportuario del Pacifico (GAP), which manages Guanajuato International Airport
- The airport offers 22 flights
- 10 domestic flights to Monterrey, Tijuana, Mexico City, Cancun, Puerto Vallarta, Felipe Angeles International Airport, Ciudad Juarez, San Jose del Cabo, Mexicali, and Merida
- 12 international flights to Houston, Dallas, Atlanta, two to Chicago, Oakland, Los Angeles, Sacramento, San Antonio, Fresno, Ontario, and San Jose

It was also recognized that for the second consecutive year, the Airport Service Quality (ASQ) award was granted by the Airports Council International (ACI World), for excellence in passenger experience at airports around the world.
In terms of operations, growth is also positive, with 25,700 flights served until August 2025, representing a 3.6% increase compared to the previous year. The airport maintains a steady upward trend over the last decade, interrupted only in 2020 due to the Covid pandemic.

Today, the State is positioned as a benchmark by belonging to the network of the most important Airport Group in Mexico, with five of its terminals in the national top 10: Guadalajara, Tijuana, Los Cabos, Puerto Vallarta, and Guanajuato.
