Libia recognizes work of business sector of Leon

The Governor presents the strategic projects promoted by the People’s Government to business leaders

The Governor of the People, Libia Dennise Garcia Munoz Ledo, met with the Business Coordinating Council of Leon to discuss the actions taken during her Government in: Security, Water, Health, Education, Women, Economy and Infrastructure

After acknowledging the work of this business organization, chaired by Roberto Novoa Toscano, in promoting the economic and social development of the city of Leon and of Guanajuato, the Governor shared the main results achieved during the current State Administration, such as the implementation of the CONFIA Strategy, which articulates prevention, intelligence, coordination, regionalization, and research programs.

This is a model that aims to deliver sustainable results and firmly build the peace that the families of Guanajuato deserve, said Libia Dennise.

Today, indicators show a significant decrease in intentional homicides; currently, there’s a 47% reduction. In the last six months alone, the decrease was 60%, the Governor noted.

Libia also highlighted that, in terms of water, Guanajuato has three simultaneous projects:

• The Lerma River Sanitation Project, to improve the watershed shared by several states
• The modernization of Irrigation District 011, which will benefit 25,000 producers and, through innovation, will allow us to recover 120 million cubic meters of water
• The Solis-Leon Dam Aqueduct, the largest in Mexico, nearly 200 km long and with an investment of 15 billion pesos, will benefit Celaya, Salamanca, Irapuato, Silao, and Leon

Libia Dennise said that in social development, “we will continue to make progress to sustain the positive results,” such as the fact that more than 430,000 people in Guanajuato left poverty behind between 2022 and 2024.

Libia noted the Bajio Logistics Gateway project in Celaya, which is part of the federal strategy of Well-being Hubs and Plan Mexico. This hub will transform the entire Laja-Bajio region into a globally competitive logistics center, connecting highways and railroads, reducing logistics costs, and attracting high-value investments.

The Governor noted that in less than a year, the investment attraction goal was exceeded: more than $2.5 billion in 30 projects, with more than 7,000 jobs secured. At the same time, micro and small businesses have been strengthened: more than 7,000 local businesses are part of the Marca Guanajuato.

“You can count on me to continue working together to further drive the growth of Guanajuato,” said Libia Dennise, who was with the Secretary of Water and Environment, Jose Lara Lona.
