Guanajuato/Gto News
At the closing of the first quarter of 2025, Guanajuato ranked as the fifth State in the national economy with the highest rate of economic growth, with a rate of 3.2 percent, according to the Quarterly Indicator of State Economic Activity (ITAEE), published by the National Institute of Statistics and Geography (INEGI).

According to the Indicator, primary activities (agriculture) registered a 9.5% increase. The secondary sector (industry, manufacturing, and construction) grew by 6.0%, placing Guanajuato as the 5th state with the highest growth in this sector. Meanwhile, the tertiary sector (commerce and services) grew by 0.8%.

The People’s Government reaffirms its unwavering commitment to creating optimal conditions for Guanajuatense families to enjoy a dignified life, through the creation and maintenance of employment sources that drive development and well-being in the region.

The ITAEE incorporates preliminary information on various economic activities, such as agriculture, industry, commerce, and services, and is therefore considered an indicator of the trend or direction of the economy, both at the State level and in the short term.

According to this indicator, Guanajuato is one of the states with the greatest productive weight in Mexico, which supports its economic influence beyond its percentage figures. The latest results of this indicator were published on July 29 by the National Institute of Statistics and Geography (INEGI). Its next publication will be on October 29, 2025.
