In just 9 months, the People’s Government has achieved 30% of the six-year goal of attraction of investment, set at 8 billion dollars, by completing 26 projects that total an investment of 2.416 billion dollars and 7 thousand jobs committed.
The New Beginning, led by Governor Libia Dennise Garcia Munoz Ledo, is spearheading efforts to leverage Guanajuato’s competitive advantages and professionalize its talents to attract investment that represent development, prosperity, and jobs for Guanajuatense families.
The head of the Ministry of Economy, Claudia Cristina Villasenor, said that this progress toward the goal is thanks to the continued trust of investors in Guanajuato as a competitive destination, with legal certainty and a clear direction.
With these investment projects, Guanajuato reaffirms its leadership as a competitive, investment-friendly state with a firm commitment to sustainable economic development, generating prosperity, and building peace.
Of the 26 formalized projects:
- 18 are new investments
- 8 are expansions of existing operations
These projects are distributed across the municipalities of:
- Irapuato, Silao, Leon, Guanajuato, San Miguel de Allende, Abasolo, Celaya, Apaseo el Grande, Romita, and San Jose Iturbide
Investments are concentrated in key sectors for the State economy:
- Automotive and auto parts, new technologies, services, medical devices, and plastics
The central objective of the investment attraction strategy is to open new employment opportunities, incorporate local micro, small, and medium-sized enterprises (MSMEs) into the value chains of large companies, and accelerate the region’s economic dynamics.
With the 7,000 jobs promised, the People’s Government, through the Secretary of Economy, seeks to strengthen the productive and social fabric, as well as consolidate Guanajuato as a hub for industrial and technological development in Mexico.
