Public Works cost engineers are certified

They highlight the People’s Government’s commitment to the quality and transparency of resources allocated to public works

The Secretary of Public Works (SOP) and the Secretary of Economy (SE) began the process to certify specialists in Cost Engineering, which will be an instrument to ensure that public works carried out throughout Guanajuato, whether by State agencies executing the works or by Municipalities, have professionals who guarantee the best costs in the execution of public works.

“We must be a national benchmark in public works because everything we do will benefit our people, and that is what our Governor, Libia Dennise, has entrusted to us. We will guarantee that everything carried out here will be of high quality and transparency,” said Public Works Secretary Juan Pablo Perez Beltrán at the signing and installation of the Organizational Committee for the Certification of Specialists in Construction and Services Cost Engineering.

The State official said that, upon taking office as head of the SOP, he did so with a vision and a work plan that includes among its main objectives the professionalization and innovation of public works processes, from planning to execution.

The Secretary said that the SOP is working to ensure that professionalization reaches those who interact with the agency in the public works process, specifically those who work in municipal public works departments, as well as the contractors who execute them.

Secretary of Economy Claudia Cristina Villasenor Aguilar emphasized that Guanajuato is a national benchmark in competitiveness, being the only State with a Labor Competency Standardization and Certification Service. 

“This process ensures that the people of Guanajuato know that there are expert and certified personnel behind the decision-making, distinguishing Guanajuato as a State committed to quality and trust,” said Villasenor.
