The People’s Government notes the expansion of SK Tec as a sign of trust in local talent and the sState’s industrial strength

The Japanese company SK Tec, specialized in the manufacture of auto parts, inaugurated the expansion of its plant in Irapuato with an investment of 19.8 million dollars, that will generate 80 new highly specialized jobs .
The Government of the People, led by Governor Libia Dennise Garcia Munoz Ledo, reaffirms its commitment to creating prosperity, employment, and attracting investments that transform the lives of Guanajuatense families.
The Secretary of Economy, Claudia Cristina Villasenor Aguilar, noted the trust of companies in Guanajuato’s competitive advantages to strengthen the automotive value chain and multiply opportunities for local suppliers.
“When a company expands, it’s a statement of Guanajuato’s strengths, but above all, of the talent of its people and the strength of its productive structure ,” said Villasenor.
SK Tec arrived in Irapuato in 2013 with an initial investment of $5.5 million and today the company employs 200 workers.
The company is dedicated to:
- Stamping, welding, assembly and plastic injection processes, producing parts for interiors, doors, seats and hoods
Its clients include:
- Aisin Mexicana, Imasen Mexico Technology, Y-tec Keylex Mexico, TS-tech and TBA
- With sales for 13 million dollars in 2024
- With exports to the United States
With an annual production of 12 million assembled parts and sales exceeding $21.7 million, SK Tec consolidates its leadership as a Tier 2 supplier. Seventy percent of its supply chain is local, which boosts the regional economy. This expansion strengthens the automotive ecosystem and reinforces Guanajuato as a strategic industrial hub.
The plant, recognized for its versatile processes and high specialization, offers better job opportunities and competitive salaries, in line with the goal of improving the quality of life in the region.
This expansion is the result of the recent work trip of the Governor of Guanajuato to Japan, and of the commitment of the State administration to attract, retain, and support strategic investments, ensuring certainty and growth for the sector.
