The Sowing Knowledge, Cultivating my Future contest is presented to promote healthy and sustainable eating

The System for the Integral Development of the Family (DIF) of the State of Guanajuato calls on the entire population to participate in two key initiatives to strengthen healthy living habits and food sustainability in the State:
- The Healthy Plate 2025 contest
- The Sowing Knowledge, Cultivating My Future contest
The Healthy Plate 2025 competition:
- Culinary creativity with Guanajuatense identity aims to revive the richness of traditional cuisine and encourage the creation of healthy, affordable dishes made with regional ingredients. The goal is to integrate basic, local ingredients and products from the plate of healthy and sustainable eating
Dishes must meet specific criteria such as the use of healthy ingredients, proper cooking techniques, affordable prices, and a cultural or nutritional focus, depending on the category.
The call is open to the student community, health professionals, and the general public, children ages 8 and up, young adults, adults, and seniors.
During the commemoration of World Food Day in October, awards and financial incentives ranging from 4,000 to 8,000 pesos will be presented.

Sowing Knowledge, Cultivating my Future:
- Vegetable gardens for Learning and Feeding is a second competition that aims to promote the creation of family, school, and community vegetable gardens as a tool for food education, self-sufficiency, and environmental stewardship
Food service providers from the Guanajuato Food Assistance Program and the general public are eligible to participate in this contest.
You can participate by registering a garden (floor or container) and submitting a video showing the actions taken, testimonials, and the destination of the produce; creativity, water conservation, and community organization will be valued.

The three best projects will be recognized in October with a financial incentive ranging from 4,000 to 8,000 pesos.
Juan Carlos Montesinos, President of the DIF System’s Advisory Council, said the contests are an initiative stemming from the Super Health League program, which seeks to promote good habits and healthy living among the people of Guanajuato. “Both projects share a common goal: to create families that are conscious and active in their health, strengthening positive habits from childhood and with the active participation of parents.”
DIF Guanajuato reaffirms its commitment to promote a culture of conscious, healthy, and accessible eating for all families.
