This new investment by NHK Spring in Guanajuato confirms the trust of foreign investors in Guanajuato

Governor Libia Dennise Garcia Munoz Ledo led the inauguration ceremony of the NHK Spring Mexico Motor Core Production Plant in the Castro del Rio Technological Industrial Park in Irapuato.
“I am very pleased that today we can renew this commitment to work together and reaffirm our trust between Japanese companies and Guanajuato. NHK Spring Mexico and Guanajuato are consolidating their position as great allies,” said the Governor to executives of the Japanese company.
The installation of this plant was announced by Libia Dennise during her work tour of Japan in early May, when the $55 million investment and the creation of 233 new jobs were announced.
“It’s an honor for me to join you, the executives, at the inauguration of this plant called the ‘Motor Core Plant.’ It’s also a wonderful opportunity to reiterate our gratitude for your cordiality and hospitality during our visit to Yokohama on May 8,” said the Governor.
This new investment by NHK Springs in Guanajuato reaffirms the trust of foreign investors in the State, despite the environment of international uncertainty.
This year, 2025, NHK Spring will expand the new plant located next to the existing one in Castro del Río, where it will manufacture engine cores for electric and hybrid vehicles, optimizing processes and increasing its production capacity.
NHK Spring is recognized as one of the world’s leading manufacturers of automotive suspension springs. Founded in 1939, it has over 80 years of experience in the industry.
Its main products include automotive suspension springs, precision springs, automotive seats, industrial machinery, and safety technologies and solutions. It specializes in the innovation of spring materials and manufacturing processes, optimizing their durability and performance.
This new plant is part of the $105 million accumulated in investment projects completed during the tour of Japan in early May.
During the current administration of the People’s Government, 20 investment projects have been completed, totaling $2.29 billion and creating 5,506 jobs.
At the opening were Lorena Alfaro Garcia, Mayor of Irapuato; Cristina Villasenor Aguilar, Secretary of Economy of Guanajuato; Officials of NHK, collaborators and special guests.
